In order to illustrate “Lote B”, the first single from António Zambujo’s new album, punctuated by a simple and intimate register (“with only a voice and a guitar I stopped the entire street”, the song goes), Pedro Serrazina revisits the equally simple and stylized graphism of his first movie, “Tale about the Cat and the Moon”. Against the sharp contrasts of black-and-white (in which the same houses, rooftops, and angular-shaped objects tend to abstraction), he adds the admirable fluidity and formal freedom offered by excellent graphic metamorphoses. Pedro Serrazina is one of the quintessential auteurs of Portuguese animated cinema and debuted at Curtas Vila do Conde’s competition with the aforementioned “Tale about the Cat and the Moon”, in 1996, having returned with “Within” (1999) and “The Eyes of the Lighthouse” (2010).
