A fast-paced editing, following the thrilling energy of Vaiapraia’s track “Fogo, Fera”, is the main feature of this small sensory incursion through a city like many others, where what matters is serving as background for breathtaking adventures, summoning in passing a series of ephemeral characters, who appear on the screen as quickly as they disappear. The exception is a boy in a white dress and sequins, who wanders the streets aimlessly, lost “on the fast track of altercation” (as the lyrics go) and in the whirlwind of night lights. This is director Eloísa Micaelo’s debut at Curtas. (JA)
