Accessibility, Inclusion and Diversity
Accessibility
The Municipal Theater of Vila do Conde, one of the festival's official venues, has a set of standards that allow access and accessible travel for people with reduced mobility. The building, built in 2009, contains modern spaces, all accessible via a public elevator 90cm wide and 2m deep, including cinemas with seats designated for people with reduced mobility. There is also a free parking lot behind the Municipal Theatre.
The Vila do Conde Municipal Auditorium, one of the venues hosting sessions of the festival, is equipped with a performance hall on the first floor, accessible to people with reduced mobility. There is a paid parking lot about 100 meters from the Auditorium. Find out how to get there from your address here (link).
Solar - Cinematic Art Gallery, which is part of Solar de São Roque, is working to make its space more accessible to deaf people, people with intellectual disabilities and people with limited mobility. For more information, please visit the official website: solar.curtas.pt.

Inclusion and Diversity
Gender equality, diversity and inclusion imply the challenging need for another culture, beyond the norms that have historically defined not only the workplace, but also the entire environment where people normally socialize and experience cultural experiences and events. Curtas will promote the necessary changes for a dynamic and integral situation where everyone feels safe and free from discrimination, regardless of their gender identity. Furthermore, this concept must validate the entire scope of gender identity and expression, including trans and non-binary individuals.
In addition to being a cultural event, Curtas Vila do Conde plays an important role in society as an agent of social responsibility. There is a concern to develop, year after year, inclusive activities with underprivileged communities, especially with young people and children, which are fundamental to ensuring that all individuals can fully participate in the experiences provided by the festival, whether through film screenings or workshops and training actions.
In addition, the festival offers affordable options for low-income communities, students and vulnerable social groups, such as local and regional social associations and projects that work directly with these communities and with which Curtas develops various activities during the festival and throughout the year.
