Curtas Pro
Curtas Pro is the program of the 32nd Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival aimed specifically at industry professionals. Three intense days of activities, networking, cooperation and project development. Curtas Pro is also an opportunity to establish contacts with other industry experts, share knowledge and look for potential partners.
The event provides an environment conducive to meeting people, pitching projects, and developing collaborations and co-production opportunities between Portuguese and international producers.
Curtas Pro also offers an overview of the funding options available through the Creative Europe program.This programme is an operation supported by the Ministère français de l'Europe et des Affaires étrangères and the Institut français as part of the international export strategy for the cultural and creative industries.

Animation Co-Production Meetings
After the remarkable success of Portuguese animated cinema and the emergence of internationally recognized filmmakers in this field, Curtas Pro is creating a space exclusively dedicated to the presentation of new projects. The aim is to encourage new professional meetings and collaborations between European animation film producers and distributors, in order to create co-production opportunities for projects still in the early stages of development (shorts and feature films). In pitching sessions, directors and producers will present their projects followed by Q&As and meetings with other professionals.
An overview on new financing opportunities supported by Creative Europe, with a focus on production, will be led by Susana Costa Pereira (Creative Europe MEDIA Desk Portugal).
This activity is promoted in collaboration with the Creative Europe Information Centre - MEDIA Desk Portugal.

Industry Screenings
The Industry Screenings are private screenings of new Portuguese-produced short films seeking a world or international premiere. It is an event for all festival programmers and artistic directors, as well as sales agents, distributors, and other film professionals. The programme was created in collaboration with Agência – Portuguese Short Film Agency.
The Industry Screenings are exclusively available via invitation.

In Development
Portuguese-produced short film projects in development, of all genres, will be showcased to producers in this pitching and networking event. The goal is to foster partnerships between Portuguese and international production companies. In addition to the pitching sessions, this event provides a unique opportunity for the participants and producers to engage in informal meetings.
Blit Award - "In Development" for the best project, worth 2,000 euros in post-production services, sponsored by Blit.
Access to the "In Development" sessions is by invitation only.

First Impressions
"First Impressions" offers young filmmakers the unique opportunity to present their new short film projects and receive direct feedback from industry professionals specializing in acquisitions, sales and distribution. The industry professionals will analyze the first few minutes of the selected films, providing information on their distribution and sales potential.
Normally a process that happens behind closed doors, this session is a unique opportunity for filmmakers to receive immediate, face-to-face feedback from experts.

Meet the Festivals
This is an opportunity for directors, producers, distributors, film schools, and others to meet with programmers from the most important international festivals in the world that have short film competitions.
These festivals include Cannes, Venice, Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand, Berlin, Rotterdam, among others. The purpose of this event is to deepen knowledge of the specificities of each event and to promote films on the international circuit.

Meet the Directors
Films come to life outside the cinema in the vibrant atmosphere of Curtas Vila do Conde. The day after the films premiere, the festival promotes encounters between the audience and the directors of the International Competition. This a unique opportunity for the public and for industry professionals to get to know more about the world of short films.
Through conversations and Q&A’s the audience will have an opportunity to discuss the films directly with the filmmakers, which will allow them to learn more about the inspirations, challenges, aesthetic decisions and creative processes of the artists.

Industry Accreditation
Industry Accreditation is aimed at professionals in the film and audiovisual industry seeking access to the exclusive Curtas Pro events (July 15th to 17th 2024) at the 32nd Curtas Vila do Conde. This accreditation gives access to:
· All the sessions in the festival program;
· Talks and Masterclasses;
· Industry Screenings [invitation only];
· Exclusive networking meetings;
· Animated Film Coproduction Meetings;
· Parties and Happy Hours.
Some activities are subject to limited capacity. The issue of Industry Accreditation is subject to the discretion and approval of Curtas Vila do Conde. Sending in the completed form does not guarantee the accreditation will be issued. Interested parties must duly complete the application form via the Filmchief platform on the following dates::
· €50 — May 1st and June 30th 2024.
