A place of criative intercepts, the Stereo section compiles in each edition of Curtas a set of proposals that, through the junction between music and cinema, intend to broaden the horizons of the fruition of the seventh art. For this year's edition, the 30th in the history of the festival, we can look forward to the performance by Steve Gunn for the films by the visionary Stan Brakhage, the collaboration of Raul Refree and Pedro Maia around the universe of F.W. Murnau’s "Nosferatu" (1922), a revisit to the post-April 25 period in the performance of "1975 General Mobilization" (with valuable historical images recorded by José Alves de Sousa), an adapted version of "I Don't Know Karate But I know Ka-razor!" by Filipe Marques, and "Sweet Spot", a live performance of expanded cinema by two animation filmmakers - Jorge Ribeiro and Paulo Patrício. The section also includes several feature films, such as the documentaries "The Last Waltz" (1978) by Martin Scorsese, a record of the last concert of the group "The Band"; "Songs for Drella" (1990), an intimate record of Lou Reed and John Cale's album, which was reported missing until recently; "Italo Disco - The Sparkling Sound of the 80s" (2021), about a musical genre very much from the 80s, and "Da Weasel - Agora e Sempre" (2022), which revisits the career of the Portuguese group. There is also room for the long-awaited music video competition.
