The Curtas Vila do Conde brings the best of the festival to several cities in Portugal

As has been the tradition since 1998, the festival is once again touring the country with the extensions of the festival - Curtas On Tour 2025 - bringing to the public three programs that bring together some of the most outstanding films of this edition.

The 33rd edition of Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival came to a close on July 20th, with the traditional closing ceremony and the announcement of the award-winning films. This year, the festival once again hits the road with the new edition of Curtas On Tour 2025, bringing audiences three programs that showcase some of the most notable films from this year's selection.


The tour kicks off on August 8th at Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery (Vila do Conde) and runs until November, with screenings scheduled in several Portuguese cities, including Vila do Conde, Lisbon, Cascais, Vila Real, and Braga, among others.

Three Programs, Multiple Perspectives

The “Best of Curtas” program features a curated selection of award-winning films from the festival, including:

  • Sol Menor, by André Silva Santos – Best National Competition Film Award

  • Porque Hoje é Sábado, by Alice Eça Guimarães – National Audience Award

  • Alișveriș, by Vasile Todinca – Grand Prize – International Competition

  • Como Si La Tierra Se Las Hubiera Tragado, by Natalia León – International Audience Award


For younger audiences, the “Curtinhas” program offers a collection of short films aimed at children and families, selected by a jury of kids aged between 8 and 12. The lineup includes:

  • Amen, by Orphée Coutier, Bettina Demarty, Kimié Maingonnat, Laurène Perego, Louise Poulain, and Avril Zundel – Best Curtinhas Film Award

  • A Cozinha de Bobel, by Fiona Rolland – Special Mention

  • Trabalho de Casa, by Nacho Arjona – Special Mention

  • Uma Guitarra à Deriva, by Sophie Roze – Special Mention


Aimed at teenagers, the “My Generation” program is curated by a committee of local high school and university students. The selection includes:

  • Children of the Bird, by Júlia Tudisco

  • Home Sweet Home, by Tiffany Deleuze – My Generation Audience Award

  • A Emancipação de Mimi, by Marcelo Pereira

  • Extracurricular Activity, by Dean Wei and Yidan Xu
