2026 Official Selection: My Generation Competition
The Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival has announced the selection for this year's My Generation competition, bringing together ten short films that offer fresh perspectives on identity, memory, belonging and the complexities of contemporary life through the eyes of a new generation.
The programme spans fiction, documentary and animation, featuring emerging talents from across Europe. The selected films are 12 Points by Isabella Rodriguez; the weight of all things, by Annie Krause; biche, by Yoann Hebert; I Think You Should Be Here, by Anna-Marija Adomaitytė and Elie Grappe; and kiss kiss bang bang, by Ollie Launspach.
Also competing are Lucus, by David Fidalgo Omil; Asparagus Bear, by Ivan Grgur; Our Pantheons, by Rosalie Charrier; Next Stop: Fontenay, by Charlyne Genoud; and Time Flies, by Tommaso Zerbi, a co-production between Belgium, Finland, Italy and Portugal.
The selection includes four fiction films, four documentaries and two animated works. Bringing together films from nine countries, the programme highlights emerging voices whose work engages with the social, emotional and cultural realities shaping younger generations.
The selected films will be screened during the upcoming edition of Curtas Vila do Conde at the courtyard at Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery, counting with the participation of some of the young teens that have been part of the selection committee of 2026 edition.
