In July 17th to 26th 2026, Vila do Conde will once again be the meeting point for cinema with the 34th edition of Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival. Founded in 1993, the festival is now an essential reference for cinema in Portugal and Europe, recognised for its bold programming, artistic diversity, and close relationship with its audiences.

Over 10 days, Curtas transforms the city into a cinematic stage, presenting hundreds of films from around the world, competitions, premieres, retrospectives, and special programs, along with film-concerts, exhibitions, and numerous activities that combine cinema, music, and visual arts. All this unfolds in a vibrant atmosphere designed for film buffs and the simply curious, for families and industry professionals alike. This new edition also reinforces the festival’s sustainable vision, with several initiatives based on the reuse and recycling of resources from previous editions and events, and by encouraging collaboration with local associations and organizations that promote accessibility and the inclusion of new audiences.
