Following a successful 33rd edition that brought together more than 60 volunteers, the festival once again hopes to build a diverse and dynamic team whose contribution is essential to the daily operation of the event and to welcoming the national and international audiences visiting Vila do Conde during the festival.

In 2026, throughout the two weeks in July, volunteers will have the opportunity to actively participate in several areas of the festival’s organisation. Available roles include welcoming and assisting guests at the Guest Office, coordinating audience access to screenings at the Teatro Municipal and Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery, supporting ticket sales and the Curtas Shop, assisting educational activities, creating audiovisual content for social media, helping with catering services, and supporting the festival’s general production activities.

In addition to gaining hands-on experience at an international cultural event, the programme offers training on the overall functioning of a film festival, direct contact with film industry professionals, journalists, and international guests, as well as official certification acknowledging each volunteer’s contribution. Selected volunteers will also receive civil liability insurance, festival merchandising, meals, and an accreditation pass granting access to festival screenings outside working hours.
