Curtas Vila do Conde is now a new partner of the Talking Shorts platform and of the European Network for Film Discourse network (The END).  In addition to developing the European Workshop for Film Criticism, the members of this network promote the New Critics & New Audiences Award 2025. This award, supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA program, aims to connect new film critics with emerging audiences for short European films.

From February 5th to 19th, six short European films, selected by participants of the 2024 European Workshops for Film Criticism, will be available for free on the Talking Shorts platform. We invite the public to watch these films and cast their votes for their favorite. Everyone who votes can win an annual subscription to This is Short, the European Short Film Network (ESFN) official streaming platform. The winning short film will be unveiled on February 21th and will be awarded a cash prize of €1,000.

This collaboration underscores Curtas Vila do Conde's dedication to supporting and promoting independent and experimental cinema, while also fostering critical engagement with the showcased works. By partnering with Talking Shorts and The END, the festival enhances the visibility of short European films and encourages interaction between burgeoning critics and new audiences.
