During the month of August, the open-air cinema sessions return to the patio of Solar - Galeria de Arte Cinemática. Programmed by Cineclube Vila do Conde, a cycle of films by Joseph Losey, American director whose career was interrupted when, in the 50's, he was part of the famous Hollywood black list. After moving to England, Joseph Losey continued to make films, and it was at this time that his work achieved a new breath and greater recognition, having been awarded the Grand Jury Prize and the Best Film Award at the Cannes Festival, or the César for Best Film and Best Director.

The open-air cinema also includes a session dedicated to two films by the Portuguese filmmaker José Manuel Sá, with the screening of "Caxinas 77" and "As Mais Belas Coisas do Mundo", a feature film premiered at the last edition of Curtas Vila do Conde and narrated and written by Valter Hugo Mãe. The 'Best of Curtas' programme, which proposes a selection of four short films awarded at the festival, is also part of the programme.
