My Generation competition has already started. The selection comittee – made up by students from 5 schools, between 14 and 18 years old – are already working on the selection process. The chosen short films can be seen in May, in TURMA CURTAS, an exclusive programme for schools, and then in July, during the 31st Curtas Vila do Conde, when the winners will be known.

This programme was launched for the first time in 2019, maintaining close collaboration with secondary schools in the municipalities of Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim. The 2024 edition, in addition to the secondary schools José Régio and Afonso Sanches (Vila do Conde), Eça de Queirós and Rocha Peixoto (Póvoa de Varzim), also counts on the participation of ESMAD – Superior School of Media, Art and Design.

The students participate in all the stages of the process, from the selection of the films, promotion of the action within the school space, elaboration of texts and synopses of the works and presentation of the sessions with the invited directors.
