Euro Connection 2026: Call for Short Film Projects Now Open
Applications are now open until October 20, 2025 for Euro Connection 2026, the European co-production forum for short films and XR projects, taking place in Clermont-Ferrand on February 3–4, 2026.
Aimed at producers, directors, broadcasters, distributors and financial backers, Euro Connection is one of the most relevant industry platforms for short film co-production in Europe. The event features pitching sessions, script consulting, pitch workshops, networking and one-to-one business meetings, bringing together around 150 industry professionals each year.
Over its past 17 editions, Euro Connection has led to the completion of 142 films, including 77 international co-productions.

The 2026 edition will feature:
12 European short film projects (fiction, animation, creative documentary)
4 XR projects (AR/VR/XR)
8 Producers in Focus invited to present their companies
Producers with a company based in one of the countries associated with Euro Connection 2026 (including Portugal) may apply, provided projects meet the following criteria:
Short film (animation, fiction, or creative documentary) of max. 30 minutes;
Partial funding secured from an external source (e.g. film fund, broadcaster, grant, award – in-kind contributions or producer’s own funds are not eligible);
Intended as an international co-production;
Shooting/production not to start before June 2026.
Applications must be submitted as a single PDF file to the national correspondent in each country, containing the application form and the necessary documents. In Portugal, the associated festivals are IndieLisboa and Curtas Vila do Conde.

Each national correspondent will nominate 1 finalist project (in some cases 2).
A European jury will select up to 11 projects from these finalists.
The Baltic Pitching Forum winner and finalists from Denmark and Kosovo (through partner festivals) will also join the line-up.
Selected producers will be invited to Clermont-Ferrand with:
Travel support (€160), 4 hotel nights, meals, and full accreditation to the Short Film Market & Festival.
Directors are strongly encouraged to attend, with shared accommodation and free accreditation.
Final results will be communicated in late November 2025 and announced publicly on January 20, 2026.
Pitching sessions (Feb. 3) and Producers in Focus are open to accredited industry participants of the Short Film Market, with prior online registration (from Jan. 20, 2026). One-to-one meetings with selected teams can also be booked online.
Euro Connection is organised by Sauve qui peut le court métrage as part of the Short Film Market, with the support of Creative Europe MEDIA and PROCIREP.
