Armando, the only grandson of an old Aveiro salt mines worker, studies music in France and news of him is rare. His grandfather Abílio decides to send him a letter announcing his death and Armando hurries back. When he was a child, Armando and his grandfather used to search in the salt for hoppers, perfect square pyramids which were very rare.
