OSCAR® Qualifying Film Festival
Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival is an OSCAR® Qualifying Film Festival. The Grand Prix of the International Competition and the Best Film Award of the National Competition are eligible for consideration in the Best Animated Short Film / Best Live Action Short Film categories of the Academy Awards®.

Curtas Vila do Conde Nominee for the European Film Awards
One of the awarded films selected by the jury will be chosen as the festival’s nominee for the European Film Awards in the short film category, organised annually by the European Film Academy.

This program of extensions of Curtas Vila do Conde takes place between July and November, with exhibitions throughout the country, through 3 different programs:

— BEST OF CURTAS (session composed, for the most part, with the winners of the Portuguese and International competitions of the Festival)

· SOL MENOR, André Silva Santos [Best Film - Portuguese Competition]

· BECAUSE TODAY IS SATURDAY, Alice Eça Guimarães [Audience Award - Portuguese Competition]

· AS IF THE EARTH HAD SWALLOWED THEM UP, Natalia León [Audience Award - International Competition]

— CURTINHAS (session dedicated to the youngest, with films for the whole family)

· AMEN, Orphee Coutier, Bettina Demarty, Kimié Maingonnat, Laurène Perego, Louise Poulain, Avril Zundel [Best Film]

 · BOBEL'S KITCHEN, Fiona Rolland [Honourable Mention M/3]
